갤러리롤랑은 2012년 부터 “가능성과 문화”를 주제로 다양한 복합예술 실험을 하며, 현대미술과 소통하는 문화의 산실(The cradle of culture)로서 예술과 생활의 경계에서 연결점을 찾는 작업이 이어가고 있습니다. 전시될 아티스트들의 작품들이 어떤 방식으로 ‘왜’ 이 사회에 ‘어떻게’ 흘러갈지에 주안점을 두고, 작가와 호흡을 맞추길 원합니다. 그렇게 쌓아가는 결과물들이 흐르게 만드는 장치로서, 갤러리롤랑이 있습니다. 이 공간과 전시에 맞춰, 뮤지션, 디자이너, 영상제작자 등의 다양한 아티스트들이 교류하는 아뜰리에 형태로 발전되기도 하며, 다양한 형태의 미디어로 재소비 될 수 있는 장치들을 구현하여, 작가에게 적당한 관객과의 맞다음을 제안하려 합니다.
Since 2012, Gallery Rolland has been experimenting with various complex arts under the theme of “Possibilities and Culture”, and continues to find a connection point at the boundary between art and life as the cradle of culture that communicates with contemporary art. We want to focus on how the works of the artists to be exhibited will flow in this society, ‘how’ and ‘why’, and we want to be in harmony with the artist. As a device that allows the accumulated results to flow, there is Gallery Rolland. In line with this space and exhibition, it develops in the form of an atelier in which various artists such as musicians, designers, and video producers exchange, and implements devices that can be re-consumed in various forms of media to meet the audience appropriate for the artist.
